For 10 years, I advocated for children as a school psychologist. Yet, when I realized I wasn't spending enough time with my own children, I was guided into a career I could have never predicted for myself.
There are two constants in my life that have always given me direction: my desire to help others and my relationship with God. Both began early on.
I went to college to study psychology, fascinated by human behavior—especially what drives people to act the way they do. Movies like Silence of the Lambs intrigued me because of the complex behaviors of characters like Hannibal Lecter. I loved unraveling the motivations behind unusual actions.
I pursued a master’s degree in psychology, and while I completed my studies, I got married and had my first child, Trinity. When she was born, we learned she had a complicated heart defect, with a life expectancy of just 14 years. Trinity’s early years were filled with surgeries. I remember completing my graduate work at the hospital, taking exams by her bedside.
We welcomed my son, Braxton, 6 years later, and by then, I was working as a school psychologist. I realized how much of a difference I could make by helping children early on. I especially loved advocating for kids with extreme behaviors or mental health challenges, like depression or bipolar disorder, explaining to others how their “bad” behavior had reasons behind it.
I worked as a school psychologist for 10 years and loved it, but eventually, I felt drained. I spent my days with other people’s children, wishing I had more time for my own. I started wondering if there was another way to help people meaningfully while being more present for my children.
At that time, real estate wasn’t on my radar –– after putting myself through graduate school, I wasn’t sure it could be a fulfilling career –– but my perception changed when I bought a home and had an incredible experience with my REALTOR®. She made the process seamless.
As a psychologist, I’d seen firsthand how much a child’s environment shapes their mental health. A stable, loving home provides a strong foundation for a person’s growth. Too often, I worked with kids in chaotic living situations, and there was only so much I could do when their home lives were unstable. I began to see real estate as another way to help families by providing them with a safe, solid place to call home. I prayed about it and got the sense that it was the right move.
I got my real estate license in 2015 and quickly discovered that people don’t always buy or sell homes for happy reasons. Many clients were going through divorces, grieving loved ones, or facing financial hardship. I could bring the same compassion from my psychology career into real estate, helping people through some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Today, I’m a full-time realtor and hands-on mom, and I’m grateful for this chapter of my life. Trinity is now 19 and doing well. Her last surgery was a major hurdle. We searched for years to find a doctor willing to operate because the risk of death was so high. After countless rejections, a Houston doctor finally agreed. When he asked why we were willing to take the risk, I replied, “God promised she would live,” and she did!
I’m enjoying watching Trinity grow into adulthood while being a proud baseball mom to Braxton, who plays competitively. In my downtime, you’ll find me enjoying great meals with friends –– I’m a major foodie, by the way –– lifting weights, reading, or praying. My faith, my family, and my desire to help others continue to be my guiding stars.
I see my work as a REALTOR® as an opportunity to bless my clients. Helping them achieve their real estate goals is a privilege, and I find fulfillment in guiding them through the process. While many agents are driven by commission, my motivations are rooted in a higher purpose, for I believe I’m being used by God to support my clients in finding homes that are safe, stable, and beneficial. This sense of responsibility drives my prompt communication and availability, ensuring clients don’t miss opportunities.
With a background in psychology, I’m a clear communicator who helps clients navigate distress by offering different perspectives and easing their concerns. My negotiation skills are strong, as I aim to understand the other party's motivations and adapt to diverse personalities. I specialize in residential properties and have a special place in my heart for veterans and active-duty families, as I have family members who served in the military. Let me help you or your loved ones find the perfect home!
Sincerely,
